KLOOF High School’s Amarachukwu Ike Grade 11 , recently entered the Boxer Youth Leadership competition. This competition has run for the last 18 years in partnership with Nedbank. Thousands of entries poured in from all areas across two different countries, and from the thousands of entries only 50 pupils are eventually chosen, to attend an all expenses paid, internationally recognised youth leadership course at Zinkwazi, later this month.
Kloof High School pupil, Amara not only managed to qualify for the course, she scored an impossible 100% for her entry. This is an extremely rare occurrence and therefore past pupil, Jason McCall from the Boxer Superstore Group, and their film crew, joined our film crew, Kloof TV, to capture this magical moment, of informing Amara of her incredible achievement. Tamaryn Van Wyk, Kloof High School’s Marketing Manager arranged for Amara’s mom and sister to be on site too, as a complete surprise in front of all her Grade 11 peers.
Amara was absolutely elated to have been chosen from all these thou sands of entries and to be the only learner in the Upper Highway area to score 100% and place in the programme. “I am extremely excited to meet all the other learners at the upcoming leadership course, together I know we can truly make a difference.” Amara also looks forward to going zip lining for the very first time and cannot wait to impart her newfound skills and knowledge to her peers and surrounding community. Acting Principal, Rob Holding along with all the teachers at Kloof High School are very proud of Amara’s achievement and wishes her well for her upcoming course.
