Boxer Athletics Club delivered an outstanding weekend of performances, highlighted by a world-class showing from Glenrose Xaba on the international stage.

Competing at the Istanbul Half Marathon, Xaba ran a superb 1:07:03 to secure 3rd place overall in the women’s race. This remarkable performance elevates her to the second-fastest South African woman in history over the 21.1km distance, now just behind Elana Meyer’s long-standing national mark of 1:06:44.

Lowering her personal best from 1:08, Xaba’s run marks a significant breakthrough and reinforces her position among the country’s elite distance runners. It is a performance defined by consistency, progression, and clear intent as she closes in on the national record.

Back home, the Boxer Athletics Club team delivered equally impressive results at the SA Track Championships in Stellenbosch, showcasing depth and talent across multiple disciplines.

The team secured:

  • 4 Gold medals – Karabo More, Kabelo Malaudzi, Carina Swiegers, Lluwellyn van Heerden
  • 3 Silver medals – Kyla Jacobs, Musa Mnisi, Karabo Mailula
  • 3 Bronze medals – Zanthe Taljaard, Zenzile Pheko, Marissa Swanepoel

From international podium finishes to national championship success, the weekend reflects the continued growth and strength of Boxer Athletics Club across all levels of competition.
