At Boxer, we believe in making a positive difference in the communities we serve. As part of our ongoing commitment to community development and social impact, Boxer Superstores recently partnered with Umlazi SAPS to refurbish and upgrade the Victim Friendly Facility (VFF) at the Umlazi Police Station.
The Victim Friendly Facility provides a private and supportive space where victims of crime, particularly survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), can receive assistance, counselling and support during difficult times.
To help create a more welcoming and dignified environment, Boxer contributed to a range of improvements, including interior and exterior upgrades, new appliances, children's toys, improved furnishings, upgraded bathroom facilities and water storage solutions. The facility has also been enhanced with awareness messaging aimed at encouraging action against gender-based violence and supporting survivors.
The official handover was attended by Boxer Group Executive: Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement, Ntombi Dludla, Umlazi SAPS Station Commander Brigadier Bonginkosi Nkabinde, healthcare professionals, social workers and community stakeholders who play a critical role in supporting victims in the Umlazi area.
"At Boxer, we believe our responsibility extends beyond retail and into the communities we serve," said Ntombi Dludla. "This initiative reflects our commitment to restoring dignity and creating safe spaces for those affected by gender-based violence. We are proud to partner with Umlazi SAPS in making a meaningful difference where it matters most."
The project forms part of Boxer's broader commitment to building stronger, safer communities and supporting vulnerable groups through meaningful community partnerships.
Together, we can help create safer spaces, restore dignity and bring hope to those who need it most.
