June and July 2026 mark the official launch of Boxer's QCTO-accredited Butchery and Bakery Schools, making Boxer the first retailer in South Africa to establish accredited training centres dedicated to these critical retail skills.
This achievement is even more significant because Boxer has earned the accreditation itself and will deliver the training in-house, ensuring our people are developed according to the standards, culture and operational excellence that define the Boxer way.
The inaugural intake welcomes 30 learners into each programme, equipping our future Butchery and Bakery Managers with the practical skills, technical knowledge and confidence needed to deliver the high standards our customers expect every day. The programme launches as a pilot in KwaZulu-Natal before being rolled out across all Boxer divisions, reinforcing our long-term commitment to developing our people and creating meaningful career opportunities from within.
With limited accredited training providers offering these qualifications nationally, Boxer has chosen to lead by investing in our own people, strengthening our fresh departments and building a sustainable pipeline of specialist talent for the future. Our ambition extends beyond qualifications and succession planning. We are building specialist expertise from within to create the very best butcheries and bakeries in the market, delivering an even better fresh food experience for every Boxer customer.
This achievement reflects what we believe at Boxer: when we invest in our people, we invest in the future of our business.
Growing our people. Building specialist skills. Shaping the future of retail.
