Boxer Superstores continues to deepen its commitment to the communities it serves, with a recent series of impactful engagements in KwaDwesi highlighting the retailer’s focus on meaningful, grassroots change.

The Boxer Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team spent two days visiting three important community organisations, beginning with Khanyisa School for the Visually Impaired. The team donated essential items including groceries, school shoes, and stationery bags, as well as solar lights to support learners who do not have reliable access to electricity at home. The visit also included a heartfelt morning spent with learners and staff, where the Boxer team enjoyed a performance by the school choir and special one on one conversations with the incredible learners of the school. A key highlight of the visit was the official unveiling of Khanyisa School as the 49th school to be adopted into Boxer’s School Club programme, symbolising the company’s 49 years of serving South African communities.

On the same day, the CSR team, led by Boxer Group Executive: Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement Ntombi Dludla, proceeded to the nearby KwaDwesi SAPS station to unveil a newly upgraded Victim Friendly Facility. The upgrade, funded and supported by Boxer, aims to provide a safer, more dignified space for victims of crime to receive support and assistance.

The outreach concluded the following day with a donation of grocery hampers to 35 elderly residents in KwaDwesi, further reinforcing Boxer’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.

These initiatives were made possible through a strong partnership between Boxer, KwaDwesi SAPS, and Amaqhobokazana NPO, a local organisation playing a vital role in uplifting the KwaDwesi community.

Speaking on the visit, Dludla said: “True impact comes from working hand-in-hand with the communities we serve. Our partnership with the SAPS and Amaqhobokazana NPO has enabled us to respond to real needs in KwaDwesi, whether it’s supporting education, improving community safety, or caring for our elderly. As Boxer celebrates 49 years as the community champion, initiatives like these remind us that our purpose goes beyond retail, it’s about making a lasting difference where it matters most.”
